Our Region

DISCOVER THE REGION

The Outaouais region combines the bustle of the urban metropolis with the peaceful tranquility of nature allowing you to experience the highlights of both worlds. The urban area of the Outaouais is the city of Gatineau, which was formed the 1st of January 2002 through the amalgamation of what were the municipalities of Aylmer, Hull, Gatineau, Buckingham and Masson-Angers. The countryside is made up of four regions, namely the Pontiac, the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, the Petite-Nation la Lièvre and the Collines-de-l'Outaouais.

Due to its spacious territory of 33 000 km2, its 20 000 lakes and dozens of rivers, the Outaouais proves to be a first choice destination for all nature lovers. Throughout the year, this region is privileged to host many events and noteworthy festivals. Whether it's admiring millions of tulips, being dazzled by thousands of fireworks or watching hundreds of hot air balloons take flight, the Outaouais region promises laughter, delight and entertainment to its residents and visitors alike.

One region, two experiences!
